Justice Monday + Raise the Age Lobby Day = Big Success

Our Executive Director, Cora Greenberg, joined the Westchester Social Justice Community for Justice Monday on March 6 in White Plains as they turned their focus on the Raise the Age campaign.

The Westchester Social Justice Community is a network of organizations that are working together to push back on the administration’s agenda that propagates bigotry, racism, misogyny, oppression and bad environmental policies.

If you missed Justice Monday, you can watch the recap now.

Justice Monday was not the only exciting Raise the Age action happening this week! WCA, along with two buses of advocates traveled to Albany on March 7th for Raise the Age Lobby Day. We had ten groups of Westchester residents, varying from youth to clergy members to service providers, meet with many elected officials, either thanking them for their support or advocating for them to change their minds. It was a huge success and pictures can be seen here.

Momentum keeps building to have real, comprehensive Raise the Age reform passed this 2017 legislative session.
