Westchester Children's Association

the leading voice for Westchester's children since 1914

How We Are Funded

Westchester Children's Association receives the vast majority of its support from private (non-governmental) sources. This allows us to remain independent and to speak out for children without fear or favor.

In our most recent fiscal year, about 30% of our operating funds come from individuals, in the form of annual giving or through special fundraising events, and 40% through grants from foundations, corporations or organizations. The final 30% is income from our endowment or from several long-standing trusts.

To make a donation to WCA, you may print our donation form and mail it with your contribution to WCA, or click here to make a donation through our web site. To discuss planned giving opportunities or other special gifts, please call (914) 946-7676. All contributions to WCA are tax-deductible to the extent permissible by law.

In 2007, WCA received grants from:
  • Joseph and Sophia Abeles Foundation
  • Cornell University/Blumenthal Internship
  • Shelby Cullom Davis Foundation
  • Frog Rock Foundation
  • Henry and Elaine Kaufman Foundation
  • Mariner Investment Group
  • Office of Senator Suzi Oppenheimer
  • United Way of Westchester/Putnam
  • Wallace Westchester Fund/ Westchester Community Foundation
  • Westchester County Department of Health
