Helping Westchester Make Youth Funding Decisions

youth fundingOn July 22, 2015, Westchester Children’s Association hosted a celebration to mark great strides made toward improved youth program funding in Westchester County. Following the event, Westchester Children’s Association Executive Director Cora Greenberg and Westchester County Deputy Executive Kevin Plunkett wrote a joint letter to the editor, which was published by The Journal News.

As a result of advocacy work done by WCA and the Campaign for Kids, the county has agreed to set up a new task force that will evaluate the process by which county funding is allocated to local youth programs.

“This is a decided victory for Westchester’s children and families, and the people who serve them, since the new planning process will help Westchester County allocate tax dollars to effective, high-quality programs that meet the greatest needs of our county’s young people.”
