Thanks to you, our team of advocates, the VOTE for KIDS Campaign has been a success! On Thursday, December 22nd, the Board of Legislators overrode County Executive Rob Astorino's vetoes of vital community services, including childcare supports, youth programming, and neighborhood health centers.

VOTE for KIDS in the 2011 County Elections
All 17 seats on the Westchester County Board of Legislators were up for election on November 8, 2011. Legislators make decisions for more than 40 departments that directly affect you and the community, such as: Public buses, Parks and recreation fees, Affordable childcare, Immunization clinics, Summer programs for children and youth, and Senior citizen services.
Join the Campaign. Tell County leaders that you will be voting on November 8th for the candidates who support issues that affect children, youth and families by joining the Campaign. After providing your name, address, and e-mail, an e-mail message will automatically be sent to your County Legislator and the County Executive from you saying that on election day, you will back candidates that understand and support the role government plays in the lives of our children and families.
Be Informed. As a critical part of the campaign, candidates for the Westchester County Board of Legislators were invited to answer some questions about the issues affecting children and youth in the County. Vote on November 8th. By participating in elections, you tell government leaders that you care about their actions and want them to help young people thrive. Westchester Children's Association will produce materials, provide support to co-sponsors, and conduct public relations to promote the VOTE for KIDS Campaign. We have displayed a list of these organizations below and given those agencies graphics and other materials to display on their websites.
There is no cost to a participating co-sponsor, other than the sincere commitment to putting children and youth at the hop of the public agenda, which will involve limited commitment of staff time.
